Fair Park Masterplan: A conversation with Darren L. James, FAIA, Board Chair of Fair Park First

Darren L. James, FAIA, Board Chair of Fair Park First, will provide us with a Master Plan Update. Fair Park is the crown jewel of Art Deco architecture and art, Dallas history, and Texas culture. It continues to be an incubator for some of the region’s most prestigious museums and institutions and thousands of art, natural history, and science exhibitions. Fair Park is also home to many of the largest, most notable events in the State. It is a symbol of what makes Texas great, the core of the Dallas cultural district, and the heart of the South Dallas community. The challenge now is to redevelop Fair Park in consideration of the historic, recreational, and environmental resources of the Park, while responding to the needs of users and visitors, protecting the cultural and historic resources, and ensuring sustainability for future generations.
